Overseas Doctorate Scholarship - Previous Scholarships
(Retired Projects)
In honor of Honorary Chairman Chung Se-Yung’s challenging spirit in the global arena, Pony Chung Foundation has financially helped young scholars so that they could develop global competencies. The domestic scholarship projects that supported the dreams and hopes of university students from 2006 to 2019 have newly launched as the Pony Chung Overseas Academic Investigators since 2020.

The Pony Chung Overseas Academic Investigators,
which used to be an annual scholarship program,
has expanded since 2020, gaining more participants as well
as a bigger budget to offer scholars in-depth investigation
in their fields and experiences in the wider world.
The scholarship is for college sophomores and juniors (or juniors and seniors in the case of a five-year university) majoring in history, philosophy, civil engineering, architecture, or architectural engineering.
The program will offer financial support for students with excellent grades, enterprising spirit and tenacity, and superior language proficiency.
Based on the readiness and professionalism of the investigation plan, a total of 10 teams will be selected, with each team consisting of two people, after an application screening and interview process.
The selected teams will receive an investigation fee worth KRW 13 million. Winners will be selected based on their investigation results, with one best team receiving KRW 1 million as prize money and two follow-up teams receiving KRW 500,000. In addition, the winning teams will have the opportunity to participate in yearly programs, such as the Hyundai Development Company (HDC) Group mentorship program, winter internship, and visits to HDC project sites.
