Pony Chung Foundation Fully Supports Korea’s Future

The future of a glorious history is not given but should be created for oneself. For a country to grow and further develop, we need numerous talents daring to unfold their dreams. Based on such belief which was always embedded in Honorary Chairman Chung’s philosophy of respecting talents, we wish to stand as a true supporter for the young talents marching for a better future.

Selection Process and Grants

Every September, universities recommend their sophomores or juniors majoring in history, philosophy,
civil engineering and or architecture. Through an in-depth interview, a total of 30 students with outstanding grades and a forward-looking spirit are selected as final recipients. For one year, the recipients are provided with various opportunities such as Winter Workshop, Summer Field Tour, Mentorship Program, Homecoming Day Event, and Overseas Academic Investigation Program, etc.
The scholarship is granted for one year and can be extended for another year with additional screening.

they tend to forget the fact that in order to bloom a flower, a stem that support the flower, leaves that produce energy, and in particular, roots that absorb nutrients are needed. The wise realize, however, that the invisible is far more important than the visible. Yearly Programs for Domestic Scholarship Recipients

New Experience, Outstanding Vision

For Domestic Scholarship recipients, Pony Chung Foundation offers various opportunities such as Mentorship Program and Overseas Academic Investigation Program to provide new experience and share exceptional visions.

  • Year-Round
    Mentorship Program

    Students are paired with Mentors who work at Hyundai Development
    Company and receive study and career advice.

  • February
    Winter Workshop

    For 2 days, students get to know each other through dynamic team
    building activities and lectures.

  • July-August
    Overseas Academic Investigation

    This program provides 6 weeks of overseas visit related with each
    student’s major. 2 teams (total of 4 students) are selected each year
    through document screening and presentation interview. Each team
    is awarded with 10 million KRW for their expense. During their
    journey, they must upload blog postings and submit midterm &
    final report.

    Summer Field Tour

    Students are given opportunities to visit the most distinguished
    project sites of Hyundai Development Company and guided by
    the site manager.

  • January-
    February
    Internship

    Hyundai Development Company provides the students 2 months
    of Internship during winter vacation to give them opportunity to
    explore career aptitude.

  • February
    Homecoming Day

    This event is held yearly, the last Friday of February, to
    enable the alumni to get together and share the latest
    news of the Foundation.
