Having created the Pony, the nation’s car, Pony Chung or Honorary Chairman Chung Se-yung did not stop at his domestic success; he dreamed of becoming a global player. Pony Chung’s global insight and innovative thinking exhibited during Pony’s production and export process are approached academically and passed on to future generations.

Pony Chung Foundation worked together with the late Cho Ji-Hyung, Professor of History at Ewha Women’s University, and his team to sort through and archive the data left by Pony Chung. Documents in which we can learn of Honorary Chairman Chung Se-Yung’s management philosophy and innovative thinking were resorted and scanned so that they could be used for research.

In 2022, Pony Chung Foundation will begin the Pony Chung Archive Research Project together with Jung Byung-Wook, Professor at RIKS, Korea University, and his team. The will for innovation and global strategies of Pony Chung, who laid the groundwork for Korea to become the 5th automobile powerhouse in the world, will be academically analyzed, establishing the foundation for such research.
