We pass on the innovation and beauty in the Pony to future generations.

The year 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Pony, Korea’s proprietary model first produced in 1975. In light of such a milestone, we will reflect on Pony Chung’s innovative spirit integrated into the Pony and train innovators in creative design in our society.

Pony Chung Foundation and Forms of Motors and Arts (FOMA) signed an agreement in 2021 to run the Pony Chung Design Academy, offering a one-year curriculum in design. The Pony Chung Design Academy consists of training programs that help future generations adapt to the unpredictable post-COVID-19 world. The Academy will focus on students gaining three competencies, or the 3Cs: communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the All Digital era may have come near, but with the belief that it is in these times that we must maintain our humanity, we train Future Innovative Designers to think with their hands and stir up their senses. Up to twenty future generation designers (high school and university students) will be selected for this program which costs KRW 330 million annually.

Junior high or high school students and university or graduate school students will be provided diverse curricula, urging them to put down their laptops and smartphones and focus on what their hands can do.

Master Class

Executive Director Park Jong-Seo as well as other major designers and artists at home and abroad will participate in the program to teach their know-how for innovation.

Innovator Project

In this project, participants will recreate the blueprint of Giorgetto Giugiaro, designer of the Pony and Pony Chung Innovation Award Winner, to find the key element that links the past and the future, and create content inspired by Pony Chung’s innovation and Pony’s significance.
